Patrice Guillon is currently the percussion soloist at Bordeaux Symphony Orchestra which is in the top 5 orchestras in France. Bordeaux Opera has 200 performances by season with Operas, Ballets and over all Symphonic music.
Patrice studied percussion and conducting and held first prize in Bordeaux Conservatory in both categories, he lately finished cursus percussion with Francis Brana who was first solo percussionist at Orchestre de Paris at that time.
He is former assistant conductor of Maestro Alain Lombard, very well known musical figure in Europe, who was in charge of Miami Opera, Strasbourg Opera, Paris Opera and Bordeaux Opera over the 80's and 90's.
Patrice conducted lots of concerts during that period with the Bordeaux Symphony.
He studied jazz vibraphone at Berklee College of Boston, first with Ed Saindon, then with Gary Burton.
He lately attended Dave Friedman's workshops in Europe.
Outside his activity in the Bordeaux Symphony he plays jazz in various groups and bands in the Bordeaux area.
He is currently playing with a new Jazz Band Project, which is a very interesting formula of 2 vibes 2 marimbas and a rhythm section "Birdland", "Nutville"

, and the Jazz Sextet of Bordeaux Symphony.
He created 6 years ago a YouTube channel which shows his personnal work in progres, which is his own routine shared on the net and a very interesting experience.
Patrice is so passionate about jazz vibes that he continues to study regularly with Tony Miceli when he comes to Europe for master classes and concerts, with the great Dave Friedman .... and some other great guys as Stefan Bauer, Tim Collins and others cats which he meets in Düsseldorf and Limerick ( Ireland ) during vibraphone internships that Mike Balter Company sponsors.
