Jazz Artist


JAMES WALKER has been playing and teaching drums and percussion for over thirty years.  He has taught at Ithaca College, Northern Illinois University, and Elgin Community College, and has presented clinics at Keene State College, Kent State University, the Hartt School, and numerous PAS Days of Percussion.  He has been published in Percussive Notes, and for several years authored the "Expressive Jazz Techniques" column in Jazz Player Magazine.

James currently teaches drums and percussion at The Music Learning Center in Danbury, CT, and freelances on drum set, jazz mallets, steel pan, and orchestral percussion.  He is also co-founder of the Vokes/Walker Duo, with soprano Sara Vokes.
