Jazz / Rock Performance and Recording Artist / Motivational Educator Rob Gottfried is a nationally recognized Youth Motivational Educator known to thousands of Kids worldwide as “ROB THE DRUMMER”. He was recently awarded The Special Tribute Proclamation by Michigan’s Governor Rick Snyder for his outstanding dedication, talent and contribution to the State of Michigan’s children and communities. Rob performs his highly acclaimed Pro-Arts, Pro-Sports, Anti-Bullying, Anti-Substance abuse, Pro-Self-Esteem  “BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE” Concerts nationally and worldwide!  In addition, Rob is a personal percussion Instructor to many inspired students of all ages. He is based in West Hartford, Connecticut…and plays and records regularly in the NYC and Boston areas of New England…and beyond!

Historically, Rob was a Winning contender in Carmine Appice’s “Best Rock Drummer of the United States” competition in LA, has also recorded on Arista Records with renowned Organist, the late Larry Young, played at The Village Gate, and rocked Carnegie Hall for the Newport Jazz Festival. He has recorded several albums with the Great Grayson Hugh, and Prog-Rock Star Tony Spada with the Band “Holding Pattern”.  As a guest star on Sesame Street for six rhythm segments, BIG BIRD’s introduction started it all! ... “Hey kids - Here comes ROB THE  DRUMMER!”  This was followed by Guest appearances on The Nickelodeon Network, Kid’s World, MTV, Entertainment Tonight, etc…and Rob can currently be seen on the Show “Ariel, Zoey, and  Eli, too!” on PBS and NBC.

Rob has played with "The Great Train Robbery," an 8-piece Jazz-Rock horn group touring throughout the country as New England's "Battle of the Bands" Award winner!  He has filled the percussion chair with guitarist extraordinaire, Jeff Pevar, and rocks the drums for Desiree' Bassett’s “THE TIME MACHINE” Band.  Desiree is the honored lead guitarist for the Cirque Du Soleil Michael Jackson IMMORTAL TOUR, and is as commanding as a vocalist and songwriter. Rob plays with ROXY PERRY, New York Blues Queen, and currently commands the drumming seat with the great Funk-Dance Band, AVENUE GROOVE.
