Douglass Bratt

If you want to know what it is like to be an active member in the percussion community, all you have to do is ask Douglass Bratt. Doug is a strong supporter of the Percussive Arts Society and serves as Treasurer for the Illinois chapter. His performance experience goes on for a mile and includes names like Kyle Asche, Stuart Mindeman, Jo Ann Daugherty, Victor Garcia, Rich Moore, Joey Sellers and Liam Teague to name a few. Doug performs in groups such as "Under the Streetlamp" - a group featuring the former Chicago cast of Jersey Boys, the "Stone/Bratt Big Band" - a group dedicated to the performance of original big band music, and has performed at prestigious festivals and venues such as the Jazz à Vienne, North Sea and Montreux Jazz Festivals as well as noted Chicago venues such as the Jazz Showcase, the Green Mill and Millennium Park.

At Moraine Valley Community College, Doug serves as coordinator of Academic Music, instructor of applied percussion and directs the college’s jazz ensemble, concert band, and percussion ensemble. Doug's educating experience does not stop at MVCC however; Doug has given clinics at the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Missouri, Truman State University, VanderCook College of Music as well as numerous K-12 programs throughout Illinois.
