Spring Vibes is just around the corner with Mike Balter artists Tony Miceli and Alexandru Anastasiu on the faculty.
From March 1 – March 6, 2017, Wuppertal turns into the capital of vibraphone-playing! We are proud to announce the European vibes- workshop “Spring Vibes” for the 5th time. Six days of vibraphone, music, creative impulses and a chance to meet musicians of any level, from beginner to professional. WOW!
“Spring Vibes” offers its participants the opportunity to play music together, to improvise, to learn, to teach, to practice effectively, and to listen.
This year’s team of instructors comprises nine internationally renowned vibraphone players. We are happy to welcome Alexandru Anastasiu, Israel Arranz, Stefan Bauer, David Friedman, Mathias Haus, Tony Miceli, Anthony Smith, Thomas Klecha-Fauré, Franck Tortiller and Matthias Goebel. Masterclasses for these six days include a wide range of styles including traditional jazz, bebop, world music, electronic, classic and free improvisation. Each day ends with an exciting concert by our master clinicians that’s open to the public (free admission for participants). We are looking forward to a week of inspiring musical experiences and encounters!
“Spring Vibes” is a co-operation between the Mallet-Institute/Düsseldorf, VibesWork-Shop/Philadelphia, and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Standort Wuppertal. Looking forward to seeing you,
